I’ve been assessing how I work, lately.  What tasks I do & when I do them.  The interesting thing is - I’m a multi-tasker, but I group similar tasks together.

As a result of my self-analysis I can post a business schedule with confidence.

Keep in mind that much of my web design and freelance writing is done in the “off hours.”  There are certain hours and days when I can likely be “found” online and available for quote, advice, work, etc.

*Drumroll*

Monday - Business Coaching Day - 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM CST - I am likely doing tasks related to business coaching.

Tuesday - Website Design Day - 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM CST - I am likely doing website building, editing, tweaking.  When my slots are full - this time goes to my clients.  When I have openings - I’m working on my own projects.

Wednesday - Writing & Marketing -  11:00 AM - 4:00 PM CST - I can usually be found managing my Business Coach site on BellaOnline.  I also take care of sending out quarries and marketing my projects on Wednesdays.  I also tend to be working from 9-11 PM at night, when I am engrossed in a project.

Thursday - Business Coaching & Web Design - 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM CST - Business Coaching tasks and Design tasks (Graphic & Web) take precedence.

Friday - Whatever Day - By Appointment - Whatever needs to be wrapped up for me to be able to have a weekend without work on my brain - I try to take care of on Fridays.  It doesn’t always work, but I do try to make sure I get time to “unplug.”

All Other Times & Days - By Appointment only.  I try to maintain my recharge time - but I will make evening / weekend appointments and take time off during the week when the price is right and the shift is necessary.

For the intense and creative work I do - it is pretty vital that I have plenty of “think” time - it helps the process.

SEO Theory - Big G doesn’t like the other Big G

In my recent foray into testing out my own theories about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) I’ve settled on a premise that appears to be a rumor turned true.

Google after the last PageRank update, did another update a day later - downgrading folks who accept sponsorships for links, posts, reviews, etc.  Basically anything that competes with Adsense.

This makes sense, when you think about it - Google gets paid for clicks, not views of their ads.  As does the owner of the site hosting the Adsense.  When competing advertisers, who often pay better, draw more clicks, and a greater percentage of the page layout real estate - it puts less money into Google’s coffers.

Whether it sucks for your Page Rank or not - It makes business sense when you look at it from the perspective of Google as a corporation.

Which brings to mind another point - for those of you who do ads on your sites - which makes more business sense for you - playing the PageRank game or the other advertisers that Big G is afraid of?  Which pays you more big green?
